From the book

Early on the Sunday morning of October 18th, 1936, Christine Agatha Walsh was baptised in Jesus' name, with 43 others, under the hand of Elder George White, who in that day was considered ‘The St Paul of Jamaica’ (Gerloff, 1992; Austin-Broos, 1997). Christine emerged from the baptismal waters speaking fluently in unknown tongues, glorifying God, as her friends looked on in amazement (Walsh, 2006). This former Baptist would go on to become a trailblazer for the Name of Jesus.

Mother Walsh walked in Apostolic authority, taking the Jesus Name message to new areas around Jamaica and planting churches, raising ministers, and serving the needs of the people. It should not be ignored that Mother Walsh faced opposition from among her own ranks, with ministers working to prevent her being credentialed. However, Mother Walsh's pastoral call was confirmed by Bishop S N Hancock, who ordained her (Walsh, 2006).

The Shiloh Apostolic Church of Jamaica started in November 1942. The Shiloh Church places a strong emphasis on the holiness of lifestyle. The Shiloh Apostolic Church also love and exalt the Name of Jesus in all they do; the signature greeting for members is “Praise Jesus!” in keeping with “whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord” (Col. 3:17).

One of Mother Walsh's spiritual sons, Elder Lowe, told that even when up in age souls were being filled at her bedside, such was the anointing that rested upon Mother Walsh. Without Mother Walsh, there would be no Bishop S A Dunn, and no Bethel.
